Situated on a steep wooded hillside at the southern end of Snowdonia, this former slate miner’s cottage makes a great retreat for a couple or small family group. We’re only next door if you need anything.

Here is a quick guided tour of Penrhos Cottage:

DSC03480A stable door leads into this cosy room, which has a carpeted floor with rugs and an open fire.  On your arrival we’ll make sure there’s a basket of logs, so you can start your break with the luxury of a roaring fire.

The kitchen/diner has everything you need to prepare tasty meals on nights in. It has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave.

The washing machine and sink are located in room off of the kitchen so you can leave the washing up until the next day if you want, after all you’re on holiday!

This has an extra large shower cubicle, WC, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and a fan heater.

Stairs lead from the sitting room to the two bedrooms which both have traditional sloped ceilings of tongue and groove panelling, exposed floor boards and rugs.

The main bedroom has the cottages best features on display, wooden floors, original walls and panelling. It has a comfortable double bed, bedside tables with lamps, double wardrobe and a dressing table.

This room has twin beds, bedside table with lamp and a chest of drawers.

All the beds will be made up with fresh linen for your arrival.

We also supply a bath towel for each guest.

Garden and Parking
There is an attractive, private, enclosed cottage garden to the side of the property which is approached by steps and bordered with shrubs and trees.  A table and chairs are provided for your use, giving views across the valley.

About 50 yards up the single track lane is a parking space for your exclusive use during your stay.

We have a little smallholding opposite the cottage and sell eggs laid by our fabulous hens – you can find them in the honesty box on our garden wall.

Other Information

There are night storage heaters throughout the cottage.  Electricity is included in the price.

A basket of logs will be provided for the fire – thereafter they are available locally.

Towels and bed linen are provided.

Up to two well behaved pets are welcome. We understand how important dogs are to a family. As the cottage is available to both dog lovers and people who don’t have dogs we do request that dogs should be kept off of the furniture and not left unattended in the cottage. You will need to supply your own dog bed, towels, bowls etc.

WI-FI and network coverage

The Cottage has access to wi-fi.

We use EE and Vodaphone networks, both of which have a strong 3G signal.
